Sarah "Agnes" Smith
Sarah “Agnes” Smith – 87, of Bridgewater and formerly of Riverport passed away peacefully at the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Born on August 27, 1930 in Riverport she was the daughter of the late Frank Watson and Hazel Belle (DeMone) Reinhardt and the wife of the late Lamont MacMillan Smith formerly of Five Houses.

Agnes was a graduate of OBS Nursing at the Grace Maternity Hospital in 1950. She then worked at the old Dawson Memorial Hospital until her marriage. She was a stay at home mom who raised her family and was active in her community. She was a member of Riverview Rebekah Lodge #56 in Riverport for 47 years until it disbanded. Her church was very important to her all of her life. She held many positions over the years: Sunday School teacher, singing in the Junior and Senior Choirs, Council member, Women’s group member, Bible Study participant, Congregational Secretary for 25 years to name a few. We will miss seeing her on Sunday mornings.

She was involved in her community where she thought she was most needed. Two awards were bestowed upon her as a member of the local Riverport Red Cross Branch, and she also helped bring swimming classes to the Riverport area. She taught first aid to the Girl Guides for many years and felt very happy to pass on her knowledge to others.

She supported her children in their endeavors and was so proud of them. She leaves behind to mourn, her children, Paul (Debbie Levy) Smith of Feltzen South, Donnas Smith of Bridgewater, Rev Annette Smith (Tom Haight) of Kitchener, Ontario.
